David Christian Farnsworth serves as a Senator in the Arizona Senate, and is the Chairman of the Senate Government Committee. He also serves on the Senate Finance and Commerce committees. His family lived in Mexico for three years, where his father worked on a  US government project. Therefore, he was born on July 16, 1951 in Mexico City. His family returned to Arizona in January 1952. He is the owner of Farnsworth and Associates, a real estate investment company. He worked as a department supervisor for Home Depot from 2004 - 2011. He is the former owner of Farnsworth Auto Sales, Farnsworth Auto Recycling, Farnsworth Distributing, Farnsworth Auto Body, and Dave's Auto. He was a crane and forklift operator at the Snowflake Paper Mill and earlier an underground diesel mechanic for Hecla mining company. He was formerly licensed in insurance and currently in real estate.

He is married to Robin and is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission for his Church in Guatemala and El Salvador from 1970 - 1972. David graduated from Mesa High School and Mesa Community College.

His political experience includes being a precinct committeeman (non-concurrent) since 1982. David ran for the Snowflake Town Council in 1992, and for Arizona Senate in 1996 and 1998. His Legislative experience began in the AZ House of Representatives in 1995 in the 42nd Legislature. He is currently serving in the Arizona Senate for District 16, in the 54th legislature, as he did in the 52nd and 53rd legislature.

His interests are hiking, reading, church activity, spending time with family,  giving patriotic firesides and he founded Arizona Constitutionalists, which meets monthly.
